Great backpack but with a couple of minor drawbacks
This is a great camera backpack, and for the price, can't really be beat. However, there are a couple of things that I dislike about the bag.

1) The padded dividers are quite thick and take up a chunk of space within the backpack.

2) The hammock system for the camera is neat but it also results in a lot of wasted space at the top of the backpack on either side of where the DSLR body sits.

3) The zipper for the main flap goes down all the way to the bottom but due to the rubberized "bucket" at the bottom, has to stop above the bucket section at the base of the backpack. This is inconvenient because the lower most compartments of the backpack are hard to get at since the flap cannot be pulled apart any more. That space is pretty much dead space because anything that is stored in there will not be easily accessible unless you lay the bag completely flat and then struggle a bit with pulling your lens out of the bottom most compartment.

Another fantastic product from CaseLogic
This is a very well thought out bag that really stands out from others in its class. For someone like me, who travels with their gear and does a good bit of hiking and camping, a rugged bag is essential.

The organizational possibilities are endless with this pack. The interior is composed of numerous foam components (coated in soft felt) equipped with Velcro. It is super easy to rearrange the padding inside to give any lens a snug fit. I threw in my 200mm zoom and 1.4 prime lenses today, quickly readjusted the padding, zipped it up, and I was out the door without a worry. Of course, I still had room for about four other lenses. I also had my 20-year-old Minolta camera in there, and the design of the hammock and the way the padding angled around the camera body gave it a very secure fit. The memory foam designed to sit on top of the camera body is dense, but it is covered in felt and seems safe enough to have pressed against the display screen of a DSLR. In short,...

WOW, is where I will start, this case gets 10 STARS! In the past I reviewed the Case Logic XN SLR-6 med. case and it had MANY flaws. ALL of those flaws have been corrected on this new SLRC-206 case. The area where the camera body goes is now UNIVERSAL! ANY body will now fit this case even with a Canon 300mm L lens attached, hood reversed! A very good messenger style camera bag, but with flaws
I bought this to replace an older and much smaller Tamrac bag that I've been using for years.

Pros: It's nicely padded. It easily holds my D90 with an 18-200mm lens, plus two more lenses (one being the compact 50mm). The color is nice and doesn't scream camera bag. In fact, this is the least "camera bag" looking camera bag I've found. The price is outstanding considering how well padded it is.

Cons: The strap is sewn into the bag, which means you can't replace it. There's basically only one pocket in the bag where everything is going to get dumped. Cleaning cloths, lens cleaner, an extra battery, memory cards, my Nikon's remote, etc. It all ends up a jumble in that one front pocket. Yeah, the pocket has two pouches, but they're huge and floppy. A bit of elastic at the top of them would have been a huge improvement.

Tamrac Rally 4
I bought this bag to replace a backpack style bag. Fortunately, the description and diagrams provided by Amazon made it an easy choice. With my old bag, I was always looking for a flat surface to lay the bag on when I went to remove equipment. It was also annoying to have to put it on and off like a jacket whenever I needed something. The Rally bag fits closer to the body and is much more convenient to take things out of. It has more than enough pockets to hold memory cards, batteries and other small items and is comfortable to carry for extended periods of time. All in all, a well made and very useful product.
Great camera bag
This bag is great. I have a cannon 7D and 24-105 lens attached and it fits perfect. Room for a flash and a EFS 10-22 lens as well.
I have tried some other sling bags and this does what a sling is supposed to do, but I think even better. Also the style is great. It doesn't look like a typical camera bag.

Cute but NOT a DSLR bag
I have been searching for a small padded shoulder camera bag that would provide enough protection, yet be portable and not scream "I'm a camera bag". Unfortunately this isn't that bag. There isn't enough protection for the camera, but it is slightly padded, so I could possibly live with it. However, with a Nikon D7000 with a 18-270mm lens, it's way too small. In addition there are not extra pockets. Even an interior zipper pocket would be great for IDs or Cash, but it's very small and non functional. Unfortunately I had to return it. Really Cute, Can Be Functional
I'm taking a trip to Colorado with my boyfriend soon and I needed a camera bag that wouldn't scream "I have $1000 worth of stuff, mug me! while walking around." I wanted it to look more like a small purse, so as not to attract attention, and I wanted to be able to sling it over my shoulder so that I could keep it close to my body.

It's pretty small, as other reviewers have mentioned, but I can still usually put everything I need into it-- more on that below. It comes with two straps, one of which I actually use as a matching camera strap on my camera! And on the inside there's a removable padded divider.

This bag is NOT very padded, but I'm ok with it because I don't tend to throw my camera bags around anyway.

I also like that it's vegan because I was having a very hard time finding animal friendly camera bags.

Great bag for my three cameras
I bought this to primary hold my Nikon D5000 and additional lens, but it will also hold my video camera and point and shoot camera. In addition it will also hold cables and chargers. If I want to take my tripod I can take it too. Great bag I would suggest it to anyone.

Fine quality and durable too.
This is my first Pelican case and will not be my last I am sure.

What I like about this case is the quality of fit and finish, size, pricepoint and mobility. It also fits the carry-on requirement for commercial airlines perfectly.

Nice and tight fit is complimented by rugged materials that handle the couple of mishaps I have had so far very well.

I actually paid about 20% more than the price I see listed here and felt like I had received adequate value and still do.

Listen if I had to give those considering whether to purchase this case one good tip it would be this. Buy this case but with the sectioned liner instead of the foam. I know the foam sounds great but in retrospect I wish I had bought this with liner instead.

Would you believe when that has come up in conversation with other photographers the ones I talk to say the same thing?

Great solid case
I just got back from a trip to Yellowstone Nat'l Park; Big Sky, Montana; and the Grand Tetons. In preparation for this trip I bought the Pelican 1510 case and added the lid organizer. All-in-all it was a great purchase. The case easily fit in the overhead bins on both the larger (Airbus) plane and the smaller, regional plane. The handle and wheels worked well and made it easy to pull through the airports. It held a lot of gear - two DSLR bodies, 70-300 zoom, 17-55 zoom, 10-22 zoom, 100 f/2.8 prime, 300 f/4 prime, 1.4 teleconverter, flash, filters, memory cards, extra batteries, and lots of other assorted photo goodies (of course, photographers would always like to be able to carry more, but then you'd have a case that was too big to be stowed in the overhead). The velcro partitions are easy to re-arrange to customize the inside space. The lid organizer gives additional storage for small items (be careful when installing it to make sure the holes in the organizer line up with the...
Great case, foam too flimsy
This case is great and earns an easy 5 stars. However, buyers should look into buying the case with no foam and instead buying a higher density foam.

Pros:
Very sturdy, excellent construction and design.
Durable
Looks great
Rolls well, solid handle

Cons:
Included foam was terrible. It is way too squishy-- not high enough density to really hold things secure and snug. Also the foam deteriorates rapidly if you have to squeeze things into the cutouts you make.

Do yourself a favor and buy the case with no foam and buy some good quality high density foam instead.

However, the case is so great that it still earns 5 stars.

Exactly what I was looking for
I wanted to take my camera equipment with me on an Ozark canoe float weekend, but needed a sturdy waterproof case to protect it against bumps and (especially) water. I ordered this case, and have been completely satisfied. I had no trouble customizing the foam padding to accommodate my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, a 100mm macro lens, a 18-55mm zoom lens, a 75-300mm zoom lens, a couple of spare batteries, two watches, and my car keys for this trip! The fully loaded case floated high in the water when I tested it. The latches took a fair amount of effort to open and close, but this was actually pretty reassuring when risking expensive equipment on the water. It opened and closed easily enough for me to manage while sitting in a canoe on a moving river without losing my paddle or my fishing rod. All of my camera equipment stayed dry and undamaged after spending two full days on the river. Had my canoe overturned, I have no doubt that my equipment would have been fine. That said,...

Very Tough and Versatile Case
When I read the Pelican case was plastic, I thought it would be OK but not as good as aluminum. WRONG! This case shell is very tough and the latches are super secure. Also the Pick N Pluck foam is easy to configure to whatever you want to protect. It took me only 20 minutes to make neat pockets for half a dozen items.

I bought it to protect a delicate (expensive) measuring instrument. That instrument's maker sells a hard case for 3 times what the Pelican case costs and (IMHO) isn't as tough. There's gotta be a lesson there somewhere.
Nice, hard plastic case
We bought the Pelican case to store photography equipment (i.e. camera, lens, etc). The case came with a pick-and-pull foam that allows you to customize it to fit whatever it is you want to store. It is a great case, but my only complaint is that I find it very hard to open and close. About two weeks after I purchased this brand, I came across a very similar case (different brand) that has a much nicer opening-closing mechanism. I wish I hadn't already picked the foam out. But overall, a good product that serves it's purpose.

1450 is a Great Case
I use this for a Nikon DSLR (D300) and I love it. I can fit the camera, a couple of lens' and all the accessories (flash, extra battery...). I almost went for the larger 1500 but it seemed a little to big to carry around easily so I went with the 1450. I can pack a couple of zoom lens' and I am covered. Excellent Case
We needed a case to protect a $20k electronics module for a race car application while it's shuttled around the world "by train, plane and automobile". This is it.

We've shipped and gotten units back from all over; scuffed, bumped, marked up and beaten to hell without a scratch or damage of any kind to the hardware inside. If you need to protect it, this box will do it.

Highly recommended.
Awesome case, but wish I knew about the HPRC
This is a quick review as I just received my Pelican 1450 Case. I bought it for my photography equipment (Canon 7D + 4 lenses). It's just the right size for me and I think I can actually fit all four lenses in the case (70-200f4L, 17-55 f2.8, 85 f1.8, 7mm fisheye). I plan to carefully cut the foam and see how it goes. I'll update the review later.

The reason why I'm writing to you before I've even used the case is because I found out about another case that's just about the same size, a little lighter, a bit cheaper, and looks a little cooler (superficial I know). Comortably fits the gear needed for a day hike UPDATE
I'm actually pleased at how much gear I can put into this bag. (see pictures)

I love the fact that I can put my SLR here with plenty of room for lens and other accessories. It is a nice compact option to a backpack when I don't need to pack as much gear.

The padding is such that I feel all my gear is well protected.

The stitching, zippers, etc are all well constructed and appear very durable. The dividers are easy to move around to customize to the lens's I want to carry.

The one draw back is that I do use bulky neoprene neck straps. It takes a bit to tuck the neck strap into place but that is a fairly minor adjustment.

This is a very comparable bag to other sling bags I have seen costing much more.

I am pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it for those considering a Sling Bag.

Couldn't hold up for even a week
I bought this bag from Costco before going on vacation . It came with a nice tripod and a UV lens protector. I bought this bag for its sling design. I planned on taking a lot of pictures and wanted the ease of access to my camera at any moment. While this bag is spaciously designed to hold my camera body, two lenses, a flash, manuals, usb cables, video cables, and lens filters, it could not sustain the weight and tore from the lower end of the strap to expose its contents (namely my 400$ lens.)
I am really disappointed with Targus keeping in mind that they have always made good laptop cases. I am seeking replacement. Hopefully they do not disappoint me with their customer service. Will update soon.

Suggestion: Go with the APE sling bag. After just over 60$ they are really a nice value and will keep your expensive investment safe!

After much debate i decided to give this bag a try. I was a bit scared becuase of the low price (i paid $29 here on amazon), but having a tight budget i just couldnt resist. I looked at the Lowepro sling bag with the same design as this bag, but it goes for almost triple the price. In the end i let price win, and i'm very happy to report that i won too!

This bag has performed admirably. I carry around my dslr, my kit lens, prime lens, and speedlight, and i still have room to spare! The bag is well built and very durable so far. All the zippers and straps and clasps work well and show no sigh of loosening or weakening. The bag holds its shape well when being tossed around, and keeps my stuff safe and secure. My only complaint is my small dslr (Nikon D3100) will slide around a bit inside the bag, even with the longer kit lens on. I've found laying an old hand towel in the bag next to the camera keeps it in place very nicely. It's not a big deal at all, and common to all...
