A fantastic bag for daily use or travel!
This is actually a much better bag than the pictures give it credit for. There are actually three zippered areas -- the laptop area, which works great for TSA -- unzip, fold open, and place on the belt -- (this compartment also has has another zippered compartment for a few papers), a center file area (the zippers go halfway down the bag, so nothing will fall out), and an organizational area with a bunch of pockets, some decent space for stuff, another zippered pocket, and the protected cell phone pocket, which is good for that or some small things that you don't want to fall out, since it has a velcroed top. There's an additional zippered pocket on the outside, a pass-through strap to sit on wheelie luggage, and an included cosmetics pouch (that I use for foreign currency). It doesn't store a massive amount of bulky material, but it holds my travel paperwork, my kindle, and my Bose headphones, the crucial stuff for a plane! Nice Bag, but..
This is a great looking bag. Even though i think it looked better in pink, I ended up purchasing the brown bag based on other customers reviews regarding how dirty the bag can get.
I am using this bag for the first time since I purchased it last week and in packing the bag, I discovered a few things that I thought were worth sharing.

1.I was really looking for an everyday bag to replace my existing one that that is falling apart. I really hate carrying multiple bags to work everyday so I always try to find one that is big enough to hold everything I need. Granted, this bag does have many compartments, but the bag has no give at all. Fitting a small purse size umbrella, my laptop, my power cord, and a cosmetics case was actually a challenge to fit in the bag simply because there are no expanders on the bag so everything just gets stuffed into the slim spaces.
2.The bag alone weights 3.2 lbs, which doesn't sound like much, but it is actually quite heavy for a bag...
Great briefcase
I was originally worried about ordering this because the pictures don't show the case opening flat, but i assure you it does. The convenience of not having to remove the laptop through security is just amazing. I am through the line in no time, and I don't have to worry any more about getting my laptop confused with someone else's.

Lots of compliments
I use this bag to carry around my MacBook Pro (17"). It fits my laptop perfectly, plus room for other things. I've flown with it and used it as carry-on and it's great! I also get a lot of compliments when I use it. So definitely a good buy.

Perfect bag
I've had a hard time finding a nice looking bag that will accomodate my 17" wide screen lap top. This bag arrived and its perfect. The size is right, there's enough pockets for the miscellaneous items and the fabric is a nice quality.
Could use some improvement
I bought this after reading all the great reviews. I was looking for a tote to fit my 15" laptop and a few books, notebooks, etc. I work full time and attend college in the evening, so I carry all my stuff for work and school around all day. I have relied on a backpack with a laptop compartment for the past 3 years, but it is getting worn. I was looking for something that looked a little more professional and preferred a tote so some of my things would be easier to access than they are in the backpack.

The bag is a little heavy, but not too heavy for me to not want to use it. It seems durable. My biggest irritation with it so far are the front pockets. They are large, but like another reviewer said, they are a little hard to reach into due to the way they're made. I have a financial calculator in one side with a white out tape and some page flags, and reaching in to get the calculator is difficult. disapointment
i was disappointed.....my 15in. laptop would not fit and zip up. the quality of the product was good but was advertised to fit up to 17in. laptop and wouldn't even accomidate a 15incher. i'll be giving mine away when i find someone who can use it.

liked so much bought a second to replace stolen one
That's right, I liked this laptop backpack/case so much that when the first one was stolen last month, I bought an identical replacement. I'm a 66-year old woman who went back to grad school last year and realized that I needed something other than the canvas bookbag we used "back in the day." For one thing, we didn't have laptops forty-five years ago and nobody used a backpack except for camping & hiking. So not only was I looking for something functional, but also something "like the other kids had." great backpack, I get many compliments!
I bought this backpack because I found that carrying my work laptop in a shoulderbag briefcase was causing me huge shoulder problems. This backback is well designed - it holds my 7-lb 17" monitor laptop and I sometimes wonder if the laptop is even in there it's so comfortable! The straps are a bit widely placed, so if you have narrow shoulders it might be hard to use - they are also made of typical backpack material and if you are wearing a tank top you might get a bit of rubbing on your shoulders where the strap touches your skin.

The backpack has one large padded pocket that holds your laptop and that has easy access through a top zipper (that goes all the way down the sides), and then another full length pocked under the "flap" that gets held in place by the small silver buckle - you can put a few files or papers in here (I wouldn't plan on putting in full file in here). Stylish, not too big, not too small... love it!
I've been looking for a stylish lightweight laptop backpack and this is it. I must have over 10 bags in my office trying to find the right one. Leather is too heavy and the shoulder bags simply are uncomfortable if you carry it for too long. This bag looks great and the pictures downplay the style to it. It has silver and pink stripes but you can't really tell in the picture. There are tons of compartments. There is even a small zippered area that when open has a mesh pocket for a water bottle. So when you aren't carrying a water bottle you don't have that mesh thing hanging off. It comes with a small bag inside you can use for your power cord or little things. You won't be disappointed in this bag at all. However I bought the sleeve that matched and it's too big for my M1330 so I'm not sure what I'll do with that. I bought it so when I didn't want to carry the whole bag, I could use that but really the bag is so compact, I don't see when I'd mind carrying it.

Cute and Functional!
I LOVE this bag! I have had other laptop bags that have been large and bulky making them awkward to carry and most of them are hideous. This one is cute and feminine, which is hard to find sometimes. The many different pockets make it a very versatile for day-to-day use. I use it for school, which is great because it can carry my laptop and my school books and supplies, but I imagine it would be great as a carry-on bag for travel as well. I highly recommend this item!

i love this bag! i just recieved it in the mail (two days earlier than anticipated!) and it is great! there are so many pockets i have found myself looking for stuff to put in them! plus, it fits my huge 19" laptop! i was afraid the size would be a bit small but it is perfect, and very cute also! i highly recommend this product, but not for computers bigger than mine because the fit is snug, but it works better than any other bag i have owned (they all fall apart because of the size of my laptop).

Nice bag
The bag looks great, especially the pink stitching. However, the bag is larger than I had imagined vertically but the width of the bag is great for putting extra stuff in with the laptop. LOVE this.
Okay, first things first... I want to straighten out some confusion that I had and am sure others have had. There are two models of bag on this page, and all reviews for BOTH models are lumped together. The PINK bag is made for UP TO a 14 inch Laptop. I have a 13.3 inch Sony Viao, it fits perfectly in the included sleeve, with some room for a couple of notebooks or a small textbook, and a bit of room for accessories. A 14 inch Vaio would NOT fit in this bag well, if at all. This is a wonderful bag with a black/pink color scheme, there is NO purple/plum coloring on this bag. The bag is very well padded, I feel like I could drop the thing on concrete with no damage to the computer inside. It is a little excessive. I am planning on removing the included sleeve for use in my regular backpack, which will also make additional space. I LOVE this bag, it is exactly what I had hoped, and exactly what I wanted.

LOVE IT!
Okay, it is indeed big, but this bag is fabulous and really well made. I've been looking for one I could love that was stylish and functional, a tall order when it comes to women's laptop bags. I'm tired of the black nylon versions that you see everywhere; why can't function and fashion meet? But on this baby the details are beautiful--from the reinforced straps (I bought it to replace my last one from which the straps tore off) to the flat exterior pocket on the back for airline tickets--and as a writer whose laptop is my baby and my livelihood, the egg carton like padding is really appreciated. And personally, I love the plum-colored velvet accents. It is a durable bag in which I fit my camera and peripherals and has a long adjustable strap that I can put diagonally over my shoulders when I'm traveling. This is the bag I've been looking for for a long, long time.

terrific airport bag
Judging by the looks I was getting at the airport, this is a must-have bag. After standing there for ages watching everyone unpack their laptop bags into those plastic bins, I was able to unzip one zipper, lay the bag flat on the belt and walk through the scanner. Pick up the bag, give it a zip and walk off while the people who were in front of me are still repacking. One man caught up with me and asked where I bought this bag. A million pockets (that's almost true!) and three compartments will hold everything. I didn't bother with a purse - I just put my things into this bag because I had room to spare. Love the green - so rich and pretty. But easily gender neutral.

Good bag
I like this bag, it is of excellent quality, has lots of compartments, and is very pretty. These are the few things I do not like about it: 1) It has an ugly pink, white, and black ScanFast logo stitched onto the reverse side of the bag that does not come off. 2) The strap fasteners are not centered so when the bag is carried on the shoulder it leans to one side. My family tells me that's no big deal because you simply make it lean into your body instead of away, but it still annoys me. 3) It smells bad and after a few weeks of airing it out I can still smell it a bit. Hopefully soon the smell will completely fade away. Despite those 3 annoyances, I still consider it a good bag.
Best travel purchase I've made in a long time!
Excellent product! Extremely well made, wonderful organization and fits handily beneath airline seats. TSA inspection was a breeze on my recent trip from Wisconsin to Hawaii (involving 5 different airports and 3 security checks). All this and tastefully stylish to boot!
