Lovely, but not as comfortable to carry as I had hoped
I'm a grad student, and I really abuse my bags. On an average day I'm carrying my laptop, its charger, the 2 textbooks I use to teach, my own work (usually a legal pad and a sheaf of papers), plus whatever library books I've recently acquired. Because I got sick of buying cheap bags and having the shoulder straps fall off six months (tops) down the road, I decided to invest in something a little more expensive / a little sturdier. I also hate the clunky / ugly / giant space-age looking L.L. Bean-esque bags that are "feminine" because they have flowers on them and are pink, but that really just look like something a sixteen-year-old girl would use to carry her tuba to band camp. This bag seemed to be: a.) sturdy, and b.) pretty / professional, which means it fit what I was looking for, so I ordered it. And it is lovely. The leather is soft & of good quality. It is sturdily made, and after about 8 months of use, the only sign of wear it is showing is where I accidentally...

updated review after 2+ months of ownership
I edited this review, but apparently it didn't take. My original review was 1 star as the item didn't look like the picture at all. It turns out, the incorrect item was sent in the correct box. The situation has been remedied and I now have the correct item. The bag is beautiful, good stitching, sturdy, not too heavy, but solidly built. I bought it to hold my kindle and accessories, along with other items I take to work and it more than suits this purpose. My husband and I held his 15" laptop up to the bag and it looked like it would fit. I had stuff in the bag by then so we didn't try to put it in there. The link below is to the item I received. I am not taking any stars off the review as it doesn't really pertain to the item itself and the problem was remedy VERY quickly.
