Big, ...but not Too Big.
Pros:

Good looking in all surroundings.

Protects my computer very well.

Well made and durable ..great zippers.

Very roomy but not bulky. ...Room for several good sized books, in addition to folders, DVD/CDs and all the laptop "paraphenalia" (adaptor, cords, mouse, etc.)

Even has a little netting/pocket that folds out large enough to carry a one liter bottle of (Dasani) water!

Easily works as a carry-on for travel.

Cons:

Not the lightest case I've picked up.

No "feet". Sits on ground and can get wet/stain when set on any surface that is even slightly wet or muddy.

Handle, while it is surprisingly comfortable, it is a velcro thingie holding two handles together. Velcro tends to show "age" by picking up hair, hay and stuff, and it tends to hold less.

Phone pocket looks a little "cheesy" with the yellow phone symbol on it. (But.. Hey! it's removable!)

Glad I got this bag.
After much research...I got this bag.

Pros:

Reasonably light (3 pounds empty I think).

Reasonably sized (not as slim as my old bag...which had no padding)

Has a removable Accessory bag for my mouse and power supply (pretty spacious!). This was THE feature I wanted.

Lots of pockets/places to store things, lots of room for documents, pens, accessories.

Suprisingly easy to carry, either by handle or strap...Oddly more so than my unpadded older case. I guess it might be the padded handle and padded sides. It's comfortable to carry around.

Cons:

No dedicated "slots" to hold my 802.11g card, I stick it in one of the secured pockets. No big deal especially since My new laptop will have built in wireless.

No space to hold a large (I mean large) book, normal books should fit easily (a bunch of them actually).

I don't use or carry CD Disks with me, so that feature is pretty...
Sandy Backpack
I needed a durable backpack for my notebook on my deployment in Iraq. I've been using it for over five months now. It has handle sandstorm and the harsh climate. I even modified to carry many of my military items including my rifle (hanging on the front d-rings). Thats an estimated weight of 50 lbs. and sometimes more. Not only I suggest this backpack but the whole entire line of Targus notebook bags since many of my co-workers actually have the same brand.

Decode Women's Tote Brief
I have a 17.3 inch Inspiron Dell laptop. This bag is not big enough. It's a tight fit to get my laptop in the bag. Then once the laptop is in the bag there is no padding on the bottom and top of the bag. If I set my bag down hard my laptop hits the floor. For me this bag just does not have enough padding all the way around. It is also on the small side if you need to put other equipment in the bag. On my first use I had my laptop, a small digital camera, my cell phone, a book, chapstick and my wallet. I could not get anything out unless I removed everything until I got to the item I was after. The handles on this bag are really stiff and will not lay down when resting the bag on the floor. I would not recommend this bag for a 17 inch laptop. It is just not roomy enough.

Not enough protection
Very nice bag, but did not fit my Studio 17 Dell laptop properly. It was very tight and did not have enough padding in laptop compartment for good protection. Straps are also a little on the stiff side. This bag did not fit my needs, but could be good for those with smaller laptops, and could fit a padded sleeve for better protection.
Perfect...except for the handles!
I bought this bag and it did what it was supposed to do. However, beware. I'm not sure if its the humidity of the Caribbean air but the handles have completely disintegrated. A fabric handle would have been perfect. As it is I cant use this without it leaving bits of powdery black bits all over me. Even tried wrapping the handles but its just too untidy. Will have to get a new bag :(

Great if you need a HUGE backpack
This thing is a MONSTER! It can hold as big a laptop as you could possibly own, with room to spare. Lots of compartments, almost too many. Bigger, in this case, is not better for me (but I don't have a giant laptop). Two things to keep in mind: 1. It can slip off your shoulders if you are a smaller framed person. My female co-worker tried it and this was a problem for her. 2. It is too big to be considered your "personal item" as an airline carry on. This is the kicker for me, as I travel quite a bit and my laptop backpack has to count as my personal item so that I can also bring my rolling carry-on suitcase. If you only need to bring a single bag on a short trip, this bag has plenty of room for a change of clothes, toiletries, etc., but if you need to bring more, then this bag will count as your big carry-on with most airlines. Just wanted to give people a heads-up!

Gigantic but in a good way
If you are like me, and you have a large amount of books and other stuff to carry around, this bag is perfect. And it has several pockets to store sunglasses, a bag lunch, a nice cell phone pouch that can fit anything from a reasonably sized Nokia to a clamshell phone hanging off of the left shoulder strap, Palm Pilot, iPod - with even a slot to fit your earbuds or headphones through, although that's kind of tricky -- a very well-padded storage area for your Notebook computer, all the connections and wires that accompany it, and, top it all off, a place for your water bottle.

If you are taking a lot of classes with a lot of books, the compartments are very spacious and can hold a lot. Unlike most reviewers here I find it very comfortable when full, and not heavy at all once you are used to a little extra weight.

Overall, I highly recommend this product, especially for the price, since a similarly equipped bag should cost over $[...] or more (but don't tell that...
Roomy, versatile and BIG.
If you have a 17" laptop, then you know your choices for bags are small. I've always had good luck with Targus accessories, and this backpack is no exception. It's well constructed and made of good materials.

The compartments are varied and evenly distributed and (mostly) easy to access. The backpack is very adjustable, from the shoulder straps, to the waist strap, to the pouch straps (which allow you to place bulkier items in the inner pouch). The outer pouch/compartments even flip open with snap-clips for easier access).

There is no "one size fits all" for laptop bags, but this bag seems to have room to spare. I have a Toshiba P105-S9722 17" widescreen laptop that weighs in near 10lbs with the power supply included. The laptop slides effortlessly into the padded compartment (which is at the "bottom" meaning closest to your back when worn as designed). The compartment has a velcro strap to help prevent sliding. The compartment above the laptop has a sturdy base...

Great Netbook case
Targus TNC101US Sport Netbook Case for up to 10.2-Inch Netbooks (Black/Grey) This is a great case for my ASUS Eee PC 1000HE netbook. It is a perfect size and well padded to provide great protection for the contents. Despite its small size, it also has enough room for the power adapter plus cord, a Logitech V450 Nano Mouse, a LiteOn eSAU208-31 Slim Line External DVD Burner and the power adapter and cord for the latter. With some careful packing, I can also include the Targus slimline power inverter and cables in order to use the netbook in my car or plug it into an airline seat on longhaul flights. Only gripe, my case arrived without the advertised padded shoulder strap and with 4 smaller and inadequate carrying straps. Targus responded well to my complaint and quickly sent me a very nice padded strap to replace the missing one. I purchased this Targus case fom DataVis.com but do not bothering to call Datavis...

Great case for the ACER Aspire One 6-cell
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire One (6 cell version) and ended up spending a surprising amount of time looking for a case for it before tripping across this one. I am happy to report that it is a perfect fit. Moreover, it has a full size external zipper pocket that is roomy enough to hold both the Samsung external optical drive I purchased for the machine and the battery charger without adding any appreciable bulk. The detachable shoulder strap is the option I particularly wanted since I often do not have a free hand when traveling. The only mystery is why Amazon does not list this case among the suggested cases for the ACER machine since it is an excellent choice.
Targus Missed the Mark
The main problem with this laptop backpack, as with others on the market right now, is the location and design of the laptop sleeve. The laptop should have a compartment unto itself with room for a few accessories and maybe a folder. At the very least, in a backpack with dual "main" compartments, the laptop slot should be in the smaller section either toward the front of the pack or in a crush proof section by itself in the rear. By either method the laptop is not constantly banged by books and other materials as one moves, and it does not bear the weight of the materials when the pack is laid on its flat side. Unfortunately, Targus missed the mark in all these regards. The laptop sleeve is attached to the very BACK of the pack in its LARGEST compartment. So when you put the largest and heaviest items in that section (e.g. text books that don't fit in the other "main" compartment), each time you walk you can feel and hear the items in the large compartment banging against...

Good size for traveling, sturdy
I purchased this case about a year ago. It was a touch smaller than most of the other rolling cases, and that has been important because it will fit under most (not all) airplane seats. The larger laptop cases won't do that, which was why I was still using a shoulder-carry laptop case up to that point. Now I wouldn't go back. I use it daily for both office and travel. This Wenger has proven to be sturdy - especially the handle assembly. It fits a 17" laptop easily. My wife finally got tired of her larger rolling laptop case and just appropriated my Wenger, so I'm getting another one for myself.

2+ Year update: Both of these Wengers are holding up well with daily use and frequent air travel. Fits overhead in regional jets (CRJ, Embraer) as well (but don't overstuff the bag). Definitely a quality product!

Finally found the perfect case!
I am the kind of person who is always looking for the perfect bag. I haven't found the perfect case that meets all of my needs - until now! This bag is the perfect size for a laptop, cords, mouse, files, books, and all of my personal accessories that I would normally carry in a purse. I do not like the look of the bags that, when they aren't full, look collapsed (I think it is a sloppy look). This bag holds it's shape whether it is empty or full. It is classy for a man or a woman. The zippers and the denier nylon are very high quality. The telescoping handle comes out high for tall people. The wheels roll very smoothly. The handle zips into the case very neatly. It does not have a shoulder strap or the capacity to use a shoulder strap, FYI, in case you want to carry it on your shoulder you woudn't be able to do so. Great construction. Sturdy zippers, wheels and handle extends easily and is tall enough to not have to bend over for a person that is 6'. Will accomodate up to a 17" laptop. Lots of storage for files, etc.

Pretty bag
Have owned this bag for about 2 years and thought I'd weigh in on it. I use this bag weekly for business travel and the two things that drew me to it were the light weight (empty) and the design/colors - it's not your typical black rolling laptop bag.

Pros: It's cute, have gotten many compliments on it.
It's relatively light, though when loaded with a laptop and other essentials, it's still 12+ pounds.
The side pocket for water or soda - outstanding functional design, folds in, secures with internal magnet when not in use
Multiple organization sections - room for files, section for pens, larger area for bulkier things, i.e., power cord, makeup bag, etc.
Fits in every overhead bin I've encountered (small regional planes) but not under all seats.
My Dell laptop fits perfectly in the padded section, zipper design allows for fast, easy access at airports.

Cons: The single stem retractable handle - looks cool but makes it...

Great Laptop Bag with a Feminine Touch
I was looking for a rolling laptop bag that looks like a women's tote when carried and was so thrilled to find this one. It looks great and and hold much more than it looks like it would. I love the water bottle holder. There is room for files and notebooks, a small make up bag and purse. Seems very durable too. Please note: there is no shoulder strap as the described.
Totally in love with this roller bag!!
I finally found a stylish and functional solution! Everyone who sees this wants one. It is small enough to easily manuever but at the same time has plenty of room for all of my stuff. It carries a ton of weight easily and the wheels are large and roll well even over uneven surfaces and curbs. The handle is study and doesn't twist or flex. The side cup holder folds shut and secures with a magnet when not in use. I have never had this bag perform the dreaded side roll or tip while I am walking along. It moves very smoothly and, a huge plus, is super quite even on tiled surfaces. The way it is made it doesn't bump into your legs while you carry it by the double strap handle. I can't think of anything that could be added to this bag to make it any more functional or attractive. I am in love!
