Sherpa for iPad - almost great, but....
I have spent a lot of money trying to find an iPad case with shoulder straps, something that would let you use the iPad without having to remove it from the case: the idea being that on a job site you can have the iPad hanging from your shoulder and be able to easily lift it up and use it. It's surprisingly hard to find something that does what seems like a simple task.
The Sherpa works quite well for that purpose: it securely holds the iPad 2 and it's easy to open the cover flap and use the iPad while standing up. Sitting down, the case makes a nice landscape mode stand that works quite well, whether watching a video or surfing the web. The case looks nice, has a rugged shoulder strap and a nice heavy duty, but soft cloth bag that provides protection for the case when you put it in a backpack,carry it in the car, etc.
So why not five stars instead of three?

I searched online for about ten days before deciding to purchase my Sherpa case for my iPad2. I looked at dozens of designs by many manufacturers. After only one day I can already tell that I made the correct decision.
I opted for the Midnight (black) color over the saddle tan color because I feel the black case will not detract from what is on the screen. I use my iPad to show rental properties to prospective tenants, so I want to keep them focused on what is on the screen, and not be distracted by a very beautiful case! It is small, elegant, classy-looking and very functional. The Midnight cases come with silver-colored hardware versus the gold-colored hardware on the tan cases.
